Well written and hard to win.

Just like the real thing. The expert level is hard to beat and I wouldnt want it any other way. A real challenge. Played the free version for a while and got sick of the Ads. Worth every penny.

Deleted all my other Hearts Apps as got tired of ads and paying for upgrades. This one was one price and works flawlessly!

Its my go-to game in waiting rooms. And my grandkids love it too

As close to playing real people. Just wish that I could break hearts after the queen of spades is played. Other than that, I love this game.

I have played other Hearts games but this is the best.

Good interface. And a great way to learn how to play Setback. I learned the game way faster than I thought I could.

Ive only played against the computer so far, so my review is based on that. I love how the computer plays well against you and doesnt make it so easy. Other games do that and it gets boring winning all the time (did I say that out loud?). You know what I mean. It plays just as advertised. If you loved Hearts at any time in your life, this is a great app to continue that love !!

This an excellent game. It is challenging but fair. I play against the computer on the difficult setting and am never disappointed. Thanks.

There is a glitch in multiplayer ((the only good part of the game)) where you cant see your cards. This gets you kicked after 2 long minutes of inactivity. This happens every other game to at least one person in the match. FIX THIS PLEASE

Remember these hints: Pass hearts, get hearts! Pass a spade, get A, K or Q in return! 98% of the time. The computer will deal a fixed deck so two players get same suit! Really a great game to pass the time, but NOT a real hearts game to try to get the low man. No shuffle on the deck, as the computer has set plays. Fun though and keep your finger on the New Game button when you get fed up with the un-winnable deals you get. Pass a spade and see what you get in return. After a year of playing this game I still get entertained. As unfair as this game is, it keeps you in there. As many times that Ive written back to the makers of the game to get them to make the game fair, they fail to listen.

The controls and flow to the gameplay both online and off are very fluid and intuitive, but playing against the AI (which is necessary for many of the achievements) gets a little frustrating due to some obvious deficiencies, like opting to win the hand over winning the game or basing whether or not to shoot the moon on an arbitrary point value in their hand rather than considering that they have the two of hearts and theres no way they can shoot with that. Still, overall enjoyable, and if youre only in it for the online play (which by far is the main draw) then youll definitely have a positive experience with this app.

This Review is for the game in Hard Mode. The actual differences between the three modes is delineated by a composition of three different AI Player Types. These can take the form of an AI Player that is nothing more than a mentally challenged Amateur (this one is the most problematic because it tends to accumulate points rapidly when one of its "teammates" is winning. It also "assists" other AI Shoot attempts, and always passes the highest three cards dealt. Really, this in Hard Mode?), another that is just Average (again, in Hard Mode?), and the last seemingly at an Expert level (you need to identify this one early in the game because it is the Designated Winner by the CHEATING AI Team. Yes, the CHEATING algorithms "chooses" which AI Player is going to win. The central strategy for winning involves preventing this from happening, by using Master Level skills to focus points on it and keep points away from the Amateur- even helping it Shoot! Can you believe thats a viable strategy???) Beware, these manifestations can also switch their specific seating multiple times during a game. That means the Expert sitting to your left can suddenly be sitting to your right (points dont transfer of course). All Star does this not only to disguise this major flaw in their CHEATING AI, but also as a strategy to prevent you from winning. Whichever varied combination you get, understand that its You vs The AI Team. You are NOT facing three other individual players as in RL. Remember, a Win for any AI Player is also a Win for the AI Team. The AI Player algorithms take into account what each player is holding and what was passed from the very beginning, and formulates a 3 vs 1 strategy against you. There is absolutely no accountability when the algorithms are controlling all three AI Players behind the scenes. Add to that the extremely suspect non-random deals, ESPECIALLY with Hold Em hands blatantly stacked against you, so consistently at the most crucial turning points in many games. There are VERY specific varieties of Extremely Disadvantageous Deals that crop up when the All Star AI is in danger of losing. Then the CHEATING AI Team will make the ideal plays against you from the very beginning, to ensure you get the most points. Still, the algorithms have specific patterns that can be taken advantage of. I wont go into the details here, because All Star has been stealthily patching some of these loose ends over time (with their vague "bug fix" updates), in order to make all their OBVIOUS (to me) CHEATING harder to detect. If you are a Master Level player looking for a real challenge, look no further. What better challenge than a game that CHEATS so HARD. Be warned, the only way you can win is to employ strategies that will NEVER work against real expert players. That may ruin the experience for you, along with the realization that this All Star AI cant win without ganging up on you. PATHETIC really, how the CHEATING ramps up so heavy handed and desperately when I am winning by a wide margin, with the occasional stutters from the CHEATING AI when no amount of CHEATING could overcome my speed and skill. Theres also something terribly wrong when the vast majority of my wins (at a 71%+ rate all in Hard Mode) involve Shooting 1-5 times, without which I would have lost. The only reason this app gets 2 whopping Stars is because of its almost stellar online multiplayer option, if only it didnt crash all the time on my 6s Plus, and the online AI Player that replaces a real player that leaves the game, is absolutely horrible. Im in it for the personal satisfaction of beating a game that CHEATS oh so very very very extremely super extra hard. This game is also a perfect representation of the new American Way. If you are a member of a country in severe decline and inferior in every way to the best and brightest from around the World, resort to CHEATING to stay competitive. THATS what Im beating every time I win. Then sending screenshots to the Inferior Devs showing how badly I humiliated their pathetic CHEATING AI. Like shooting 5 times in a single Hard Mode 150pt game and winning by pushing all the other AI Players above 150. I call that move the "Five Star Review" because its mind-bogglingly ridiculous, like all the 5 Stars this game is getting. And I do recommend playing 150pt games, because it will give you the breathing room necessary to overcome all this HARDCORE CHEATING (Ive come back from a 60pt+ deficit to win). FYI I have the Perfection (-37 points. Yes, won by negative points) and Unstoppable (14 straight wins without quitting) Elite Achievements, and I earned the Moon Shooter Mastery Achievement TWICE (2100+ Shoots). All in Hard Mode. So you can take all the above as gospel from an expert Hearts player who has beaten the AI over 1,000 times. Dont listen to these clueless 5 Star Reviewers, especially when the CHEATING is so blatantly obvious! "Duuurrr great challenge, 5 Stars!" Youd have to be really (a word that rhymes with CUPID) not to even notice how HARD this game CHEATS. Actually, I apologize. I shouldnt make fun of people with a major mental and developmental handicap. I mean, how horrible it must be to go through Life with such a terrible genetic defect, and with a poor cultural upbringing. Hey 5 Star Reviewer, just put it in Hard Mode and let the CHEATING AI beat you silly. It will make you a better player. Uh huh. And smarter. Oh yeah. And it builds character. All the things the average American desperately needs. Then go play on luminosity, because a few extra IQ points will make all the difference in the world for people like you. Overcome your handicap!
